What do you need IBM's Open Access module for?

Post by Profound Logic »

Question:
What do you need IBM's Open Access module for?

Answer:
You need OA to use the DDS conversion on 6.1 or 7.1 or to do new application development with Profound UI on 6.1 or 7.1. If you are on earlier releases (V5R3 and V5R4), you should use our preprocessor module that mimics the functionality of RPG OA.

RPG OA makes it so that standard RPG op code like ExFmt, Write, and Read call our handler and pass the necessary buffer data to it.

You do not need RPG OA for refacing.
