The Profound UI installer uses ftp to transfer the necessary files and objects to the IBM i.

It appears the IBM i FTP server is rejecting the transfer of files.

Are you on the local area network, or are you trying to install the software from outside the firewall? If installing from the outside, certain ports that are required for file transfer may be blocked by your firewall.

It is also possible that you have security software on the IBM i that may be preventing file transfers. You would have to allow the transfers before you can continue with the installation.

I hope this helps.

Hi Alex

I've narrowed down the problem a little further.

It's not the ftp that's the prob.

If I do a customized installation and only select the Library and IFS files to be done, that's succesfull, although it then fails on STRTCPSVR which I understand because the HTTP Config hasn't been done.
Attached is that screenshot.
The library and IFS files are all on my 400 now.

So the only time that it displays "ftp probs" is when I run the HTTP Config install.
That screenshot is from my first post.

Is there perhaps a Special authority that I need for my user profile?
I have :
*ALLOBJ
*IOSYSCFG
*JOBCTL
*SECADM
*SPLCTL

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi

It was the port that was giving the prob.

Changed it from 8080 to 10 (guessed) and it works.
