Subfile not clearing consistently on filter

I am trying to write a RPG grid in a rich display file with a filter. I am using "filter response" to submit to the program and using that to build a custom SQL statement. My issue is that, even though I am using subfile clear, the filtered results sometimes appear on top of the old results:

I've attached the relevant subroutine, as well as the grid object from the display file. Let me know if you need to see anything else

After further testing, this only appears to happen when a new filter is applied. It refreshes properly when the filter is changed.
