Missing Grid Field in excel export

Post by mcorbo »

I have a grid that has 2 fields in 1 column. When the user exports the excel file and opens it, only the first field in the column is in the excel spreadsheet.

Hi mcorbo,

Our support team replied to your email concerning this. However, we'd like to put our response here as well, in case it's helpful.

The behavior that you are experiencing is the expected behavior when exporting your grid data to Excel. This is because Excel does not allow multiple fields in a single cell, like our grid widget does. 'Export to Excel' will only export the first element that is in the grid column. This order is determined by the 'Elements' tab in the Visual Designer:

In this example, if you have one grid column with two fields (OutputField1 and OutputField2), OutputField1 will be exported because this is listed before OutputField2. So, if you need both of these fields exported to Excel, you will need to place them in separate columns in your grid.

We hope that this helps!
