Buttons for Fkeys in Genie Skin

Post by pjshuey »

Is there a way to move the fkeys to a side panel (like the hybrid skin does), but make them buttons instead of output fields?

Yes, of course. The hybrid skin is only an example, we do not expect you to just use it as-is.

In fact, I don't think any of our customers use the skins as-is. Everyone starts with one of the skins we provide, but copies it to their own name, and then modifies it to meet their requirements.

So... If you prefer to have buttons instead of links, please don't hesitate to change the code. Just make sure you copy it to your own skin first (don't change it under the name "Hybrid" because that skin gets replaced each time you upgrade Profound UI.)

The Genie Administrator has a copy button, which you should use to copy our skin to your own name, and then you should modify the copy. We provide an easy to use text editor in the Genie Administrator that can be used to modify the 3 basic skin files (start.html, custom.js, and skin-name.css). You can also edit these with your favorite text editor by accessing the files directly in the IFS. They are under the /www/INSTANCE-NAME/htdocs/profoundui/userdata/genie skins/SKIN-NAME/ directory.

Some customers prefer to hire the experts in our professional services team to make a Genie skin for them. If that interests you, contact sales@profoundlogic.com to discuss pricing and availability.
