I find it difficult to manage the resulting mess when I have to create a textbox widget for each hidden field in a subfile grid -- especially if there are very many of these. (However, even *one* of these can be a "problem" if there is no open space in the grid for the hidden widget.) So, unless you can show me an easier way to manage these hidden widgets, I'd seriously suggest that a better method be created for defining and handling hidden subfile fields.
Furthermore, after seeing how the designer manages the creation of multiple message entries for a single subfile field, I'd also suggest there be a property added to the grid widget just for creating multiple hidden fields for the subfile. This would allow them to be managed behind the scenes (just as are multiple field message entries) rather than having them clutter up the subfile rows.
Thanks.

Re: Designer Enhancement for Hidden Fields
Have you considered using the "user defined data" property? It's a property that is capable of multiple entries. You can use it define many hidden fields and attach them all to only one widget -- it doesn't even have to be a hidden widget; it can be an existing output field widget in your subfile, for example.

Re: Designer Enhancement for Hidden Fields
Now that you point it out, that would certainly be one choice which is better than creating separate widgets for each hidden field. Also, if there isn't going to be a near future enhancement along the subject lines of this thread, then I will try to start using "user defined data" going forward. I could wish, though, that the grid widget had this "user defined data" property -- but it doesn't.
That said... For traditional subfile hidden fields, I don't actually like how "user defined data" is handled as well as I like how "error messages" is handled. Meaning, I like being able to add multiple entries in a single dialogue box much better than having to right-click to add duplicate "user defined data" properties.
Thanks.
