WebFacing Server
We are having response time issues when running rich display programs in Genie and realized that we did not have the WebFacing Server started. After we started it, our database driven combo boxes and our onload functions no longer worked. Is there something I can change to make them work? Also, is there anything else we can do to speed things up in Genie?

Re: WebFacing Server
We strongly recommend using the (default) Virtual Terminal mode rather than the Webfacing Server mode. It will perform better and support all of our features better. It is also more secure.
As far as I know, the only reason to use the "Webfacing Server" mode is if you're running on a system that does not allow interactive jobs. Years back, IBM sold some servers that were batch-only and could not run interactive jobs. Webfacing Server mode works in that case whereas Virtual Terminal does not... but, I don't know of anyone who actual owns a server like that these days. Assuming you have interactive capacity on your box, please use Virtual Terminal mode.

Re: WebFacing Server
Good to know! I found a topic in the forum that suggested trying the WebFacing Server to increase speed, but that was from 2009. I was just searching for anything to increase response time. If you have any other suggestions, please let me know. Thanks!

Re: WebFacing Server
Scott, could you maybe post something in the original topic that I found, so in the future no one will think switching to the WebFacing server is a good idea? :) The topic is locked so I can't comment on it.
