Button Text

Post by Paul »

Similar to the text wrap question below, is is possible to wrap button text? We use the enhanced DDS conversions and use the Actions panel for the buttons. This is quite narrow and sometimes the button text is too long. Making the button deeper is no good because the text doesn't wrap. Is it possible to wrap the text?

Thanks,

Paul

You can use HTML's <br> tag (line break) in the value of the button to create a multi-line button. However, this only works with certain types of button.

It will work, if the the "field type" property of the button is "graphic button" or "css button". It will NOT work if the "field type" property of the button is "styled button" or just "button".

Thanks Alex, that works. It looks a little strange next to the styled buttons created by the conversion, but with the same colour scheme its acceptable.

This works well. However, is there a way to "center" the text (top to bottom) withing the button, itself? The text within the "value" property apparently starts in the middle of the button. I've had to increase the button's "height" to get the text to fit within the button.
This conflicts with our standards.
