The new version doesn't let me save the converted DDS

Post by fsuinnc »

I found a screen that converted with just a few errors but the version of the conversion tool that I have won't let me save the Rich Display File. It gives a message about this being a Beta Preview. I saved a couple of files with the last version. Did I lose something when I installed the 2.0.2?

We provide the conversion process as a Beta Preview at the moment. Saving is disabled by default.

However, you can override the message by holding the Ctrl key before clicking the Save button. Be aware that additional work may be required if you are using a technique or DDS keyword that is not yet supported by the conversion.

This workaround does not work for me when trying the conversion beta. Editing in Firefox 3.6.3. I still get the message "...cannot be saved" even when holding down CTRL before/while clicking Save or Save As.

If I understand this right I need to save it before compiling it and have to compile it before I can compile my RPGLE program over it, right?

Thanks.

You are correct re save --> compile DDS --> compile RPG

The Cntrl Save was added into Profound UI version 2.0.2 Can you check the version you are running with Help --> About in the Visual Designer. You will need 2.0.2 or higher.

You can download the latest version (2.0.3) from our website and re-install if you have an older version.

I downloaded the latest UI version and when the install utility prompted to start ProfoundUI I let it. Went to try the conversion again. CTRL + Save still didn't work. BUT then I checked the version, which still showed 2.0.
So I backed out to the welcome screen and CTRL+F5 to force a reload in my browser and did the same on the Designer page (CTRL+F5). Then my version showed 2.0.3.
Tried the conversion again and CTRL + clicking Save and it works now.
Sounds like the js needs versioning to force a reload after upgrading.
