I just installed 4.2.1 and when I call a Rich Display program from Genie, it stays idling and I never get the screen. I have to close the browser because it hangs.
When I look the call stack of the job, I see that program is executing.
I installed back the 4.1.7 I everything back to normal.
Any ideas. Has anybody reported this issue?.

Re: 4.2.1 issue when calling a Rich Display program from Genie
We haven't had any other reports of problem, and things work fine in our own testing, but there were some changes to how the communication between PUI programs and Genie is done in this release, so there could be an issue.
Are you able to provide a simple example display and RPG that illustrates the problem? Is it just one particular program, or any program?

I only have that program being called from Genie. Antonio work with an issue in that program related to the graphics in the IPAD.

Ok. Are you able to provide an example program that we can run here to reproduce the problem?
I did check w/Antonio, he had a copy of your display only. I made my own test program over this display and it runs fine in Genie. So, I'm unable to recreate it without an example.

Thanks, but we're unable to compile and run this as the RPG references DB files, which we don't have of course.
Are you able to provide a simplified example that recreates the problems that we could run and test with here?

I created library PRFTST with all the objects except P55004R which I was not allow to saved it because it was created in V7R1M0, so you can recompiled in that library.
I hope you can find the problem.

Re: 4.2.1 issue when calling a Rich Display program from Genie
Thanks for putting this together, we can compile and run the program now. I tested it by calling from Genie on both 6.1 and 7.1 test systems.
In either case, the program runs fine for me -- I can see the 'Name Search' screen display, and I can also type a search term and see the results in the subfile.
I wonder what is happening on your system. Could it be that you have 2 copies of PUI on the same machine? If that is the case, you would have issues if you have a different PUI library on the library list of your Genie session job than what library PUI/Genie is actually installed into.
Is this it? Let me know if not, and we can look further.

Re: 4.2.1 issue when calling a Rich Display program from Genie
You are right. I always install the new release in a different environment, for testing purposes , in my case I use port 8081 and the PUI library PROFOUNDPR . So I was testing the new release with the library PROFOUNDUI in the library instead of PROFOUNDPR.
So I was doing what you described.
Thank you very much.

Re: 4.2.1 issue when calling a Rich Display program from Genie
Glad that's sorted out. Probably Genie and PUI should check to make sure the version is the same on both ends and issue a meaningful message, if not.
We will look into improving that.
