I have an indicator set on the protect attribute of a record format, yet even though i set this before the exfmt, the fields are not protected ?
Am i missing the point of this attribute ?
What I want to do is display the screen with fields enabled most times, but occasionally set the indicator on & display the screen as read only.
If this is the wrong approach, can you give me guidance please.
thanks & regards

Re: protect at record level not working ?
This property protects other formats already on the display, not the format you are currently writing to the screen.
Perhaps you could create another dummy format, and write it with overlay on top of this one.
