Convert date format before sending back to program

Post by nicoleschaible »

Is it possible to convert the date format before sending it back to my RPG program?
We need to display the day of the week along with the date before selecting a schedule type. I'm pretty sure the date format listed in designer isn't supported by RPG. (It would be nice if it was. I dream on.) Can I convert the date format before I send it back to the program? The date pattern is I,F,j, Y. Can I convert it to ISO possibly as an onclick.pui event?

Hi Nicole,

I'm not sure that I understand. With open access, a date type field must always be in the internal date format. Profound UI can't send it in a different format than is defined in the DDS.

If you're referring to a character or numeric field, the date format you select is meant to tell Profound UI what format your RPG data will be in.

If all else fails, you can always write a custom date formatter in JavaScript as explained here:
