Run Profound UI on a Node server

Post by ludovic.zwingelstein »

Is it possible to run Genie on a Node server ? Because I want to transform 5250 green-screens into a Web App.
With the Apache Server I can't run modules like webpack and frameworks like Vue.js.

Genie must run on the IBM HTTP Server (powered by Apache). It can, however, be integrated with code running on a Node server such as Express. That is what we do in the Profound.js product, we run Genie on Apache and integrate it with Node on Express, and it works perfectly.

We installed Profound.js as you said. We followed the instructions in the documentation. Then we try to get to the sample pages such as 'connect4' at this url 'http://XX.XX.XX.XX:9081/connect4'. But at this point we saw a 'Sing On' page. after we logged in, we get the following alert 'Unable to reach server. Check your connection and try again.' and the following error 'POST http://XX.XX.XX.XX:9081/profoundui/PUI0001200.pgm 500 (Internal Server Error)'.

We are using the Version: 5.4.0 should we upgrade to resolve this error ?

For sure you shouldn't be doing this (or anything) with an ancient version of Profound UI like 5.4.0. But, it's not clear whether that is causing the exact error you've posted?
