DDS conversion - Themes

Post by leatherlips »

I see a standard and enhanced theme for DDS conversion. Where are these defined? Can I create my own additional themes? If so, can the themes include custom widgets? How would I go about creating such a theme?

The DDS conversion themes are JavaScript files defined in JSON format (JavaScript Object Notation). This format is a friendly, readable name/value pair listing of properties. These files reside on the IFS under your Profound UI installation. Here is where you can locate these files: /www/profoundui/htdocs/profoundui/userdata/custom/themes

The theme files control the look and feel of your converted DDS. For instance, you can control which panel style to use as containers around subfiles, function keys, etc. It can also control subfile styles along with a bunch of other widgets to be used in conversions. Additionally, you can control where panels/widgets appear on the screen, their default sizes, color scheme, etc.

You can certainly create your own conversion theme file. To create your own theme file, you can start by opening up one of the existing theme files under the directory structure highlighted above and then save it with a different name. Now, your new theme will automatically be picked up by the designer in the themes drop down box within the conversion dialog. From here, you can adjust some of the properties of the theme to your needs. As I said, the properties are simple name/value pair that are self-explanatory.

You can definitely add your own custom widgets to your newly created theme.
