pui["auto tab"] not working when input fields in different layouts

Hi,

we have an application which works as a session. In this application we have to use the setting pui["auto tab"] = true;.
For Authentification the original DSPF "PUISCREENS" works fine but if we do some changes on the design, the auto tab function does not work any more.

In my adapted DSPF I put the input fields "SSUSER" and "SSPASSWORD" in different layouts. This fact is the reason that the auto tab function is not working any more.

Is there a reason why?

To fix this I created a workaround with JavaScript but maybe you have another solution for me.
Our Profound UI Versions is 5.14.0.
