Skin not displaying correctly after upgrade

Post by LauraG »

I've upgraded from version 4.1.4 to version 4.1.6 and everything works perfectly in Firefox, but in Internet Explorer the skin is not appearing as it should. Other skins seem to work fine, but our custom skin does not seem to load properly. The error messages I'm getting are below:

Message: Invalid argument.
Line: 798
Char: 248
Code: 0
URI: http://ugnideva:8089/profoundui/proddata/js/genie.js

Message: Object doesn't support this property or method
Line: 172
Char: 3
Code: 0
URI: http://ugnideva:8089/profoundui/userdat ... /custom.js

Any help would be most appreciated!

Looks like there is a script error in your skin's "custom.js" scripts, and also in Genie's "genie.js". The latter could be caused by a bad call to one of Genie's scripting APIs from your code in "custom.js".

Probably what has happened is that some change in 4.1.6 has made your scripts incompatible. This shouldn't generally happen, but since you are running scripts that work on output produced by Genie, your scripts are sensitive to changes that are made in the rendering of Genie screens.

This sort of problem is much better handled through technical support -- where this forum is better used for "how to" type questions.

I would recommend:

1. Have a look at the failing line of code in "custom.js" and/or debug the script to see what is going wrong.

2. If the above does not give any obvious answer, I would recommend opening a technical support issue:

support@profoundlogic.com

If you would zip up your entire skin directory, our support team can test with it and we should be able to determine what is going wrong quickly.
