How to do Notifications with Profound??

Hello,

I am working on a project that will require a "LEAD" to send notifications to users. The users will be logged into the same program and will be adding data to the screen constantly. Is there any other way to do this besides auto refreshing the screen every thirty seconds or so? None of the users will have access to email, and because they are all floor users, they generally log in with the same username (might be able to change this). Is it possible to have instant notifications without refreshing?

Any information would be great.
