Upgrading from 4.8.4 to 5.0.5

Post by SeanTyree »

We are planning to upgrade to 5.0.5 from 4.8.4. Since the Jumpstart HTTP directives were added in the 5.0.3 upgrade and the HTTP directives were also changed in the 5.0.0 release, will I need to manually add these directives?

Thanks,
Sean

If you are using the stock Profound version of the configuration file, then you can just take the defaults in the Profound UI installer, and it'll replace your configuration file with the newer one, and you won't have to make any changes yourself.

If you have modified yours, however, then we recommend using the 'customize' button to tell Profound UI not to update the HTTP configuration. Instead, go into it manually and make the changes. You can find all of the necessary changes by reading the versions above 4.8.4 in the following document:
http://www.profoundlogic.com/versions.rpgsp

Anywhere there's a change that needs to be made, there will be a note in red. Each note has a 'Click here' link that you can click to see what needs to be added/changed in the configuration file.

Good luck!

Thanks Scott,
My plan was always to let the installer update the config. I just wanted to be sure that it would perform the updates from 2 and 5 subversions prior.
Since there are no config changes specifically in the 5.0.5 version, I wasn't sure if it would apply the changes from prior versions.

Thanks again,
Sean

Yeah, it actually just replaces your config completely with the ltest one. So all the updates will be there -- but any customizations you've made will be wiped out.
