Add an existing grid to a layout

Post by Shon »

I have an existing subfile grid. I created a new simple container layout which I want to hold my grid as well as a few buttons. Normally you drag and drop an element onto a layout to make it part of that layout. It will work with the buttons. This doesn't seem to work with the existing grid. If I drop a brand new grid onto the layout, it will become a part of that layout, but I can't seem to get it to work for an exisitng grid. I also can't see any properties which list the layout so that I could change the value manually. Please advise. Thanks,

I can't recreate this. What version of Profound UI are you using?

Note that the item you are trying to drop into the Layout must be able to fit within it, or it won't drop in. You may need to make the Layout widget bigger. Is that it? If not, can you confirm the version you are using and post an example display file here that we can try to recreate it with?

An easy way to get an example is to use Save As, and select the Local tab. This will download a copy to your PC, and you can attach it here after removing any sensitive or irrelevant bits.

Thank you. I ended up editing the source directly, which was time consuming, but managed to get it done correctly. I will make note of the container size, but I am pretty sure that it would have fit, it just did not want to go for some reason.

I ran into the same issue. In my case I had a simple container layout within another parent layout. To resolve, I moved the child layout outside the parent, then dropped the sfl grid into the child, and then dropped the child back into the parent.
