How to insert a column in a grid

Post by Thomas Garvey »

Haven't created a panel with a grid in it for a while. Now that I have a grid with 20 columns, I need to insert a new first column (so I can include an icon image to click when the user needs to drill down into data values).
Please tell me there is some easy way to do this, and that I don't have to add a new column at the end and move each column over manually to make room?

You don't have to move the columns manually. Just add the new column at the end, and then drag the new column to the place where you want it. You do this by dragging the column heading (make sure you grab it in theheading row, if you try to drag the data rows, you'll move the grid instead of just the column.)

You shouldn't have to do anything with the existing columns this way.

Thanks. Works just like you described. Told you it had been a while for me.
