Error Message Type - Converted Screens

Our error messages on converted screens without a subfile appear in the red error message box and the user can continue without closing the box or hitting enter.

Errors messages on a subfile control or subfile record appear in an alter or dialog box which requires the user to either close the box or hit enter before continuing. We do not use the Error Message Location property.

We prefer the red error message box, any idea why we are getting the 2 different types of error messages within the same converted screen?

When an error message is associated with a specific widget (i.e. using the "error messages" property of a widget) then it will appear in an "error tip" (like a tooltip) which defaults to having a red background.

When an error message is associated with a record format rather than a widget, it will appear as an "alert" box. (i.e. a pop-up window that the user has to click OK on). This is because there is no screen element to place a tooltip on.
