IBM RFE for CPD7879 - Field causes record length to be greater than 32763 bytes

I have submitted an IBM RFE for CPD7879, which essentially limits the record length of fields in a 5250 record format to not exceed 32763 bytes.

This limitation makes it difficult to make extensive use of various widgets (non-DB driven) such as Dropdown lists.

This may not be a limitation that IBM can remove (to maintain compatibility) - but I'm hopeful that they can.

So if anyone else has experienced this limitation when trying to utilize Dropdown lists or other widgets that use larger field lengths, I encourage you to vote to ask IBM to see if there is a work-around

Dan, thanks for submitting this to IBM. I've been fighting the 32,763 limit for a couple of years. I voted for the change, I hope IBM responds.
