binding textbox properties to a program field

Post by Wendy »

There is an exorbitant amount of mouse clicks to change Indicator Expressions on any given property to a bound indicator in an program.
Are there any plans for arrow keys, and the enter key to work when selecting field names on the list of field names that pop up. Or, is there an easier way to do what I need to do? See attached screen shot to know the exact screen I'm referring to.

The drop down list of field names disappears when doing the 'snip', sorry. But I would love to scroll down the list of fields, press enter when it's highlight and be done! Instead I have to type more of the field name in until I see the one I want, and then I have to move the mouse to it, click it, then click OK. It's very time consuming when you have 5 indicator properties on one field that all need changed. And then you have 20 fields on multiple screens that similarly need changed. Thank you!

Hi Wendy,

Testing this on my end, it seems like the arrow keys and enter key on the keyboard work fine in the binding dialog. For the 'Field Name' option, currently you will need to partially type the field name that you are wanting to use to bring up the list of options. However, you should be able to use the arrow keys and enter key to choose the field name from the drop down list and use the enter key to submit the binding information (like, pressing the 'Ok' button on this dialog).

Are you saying that this functionality isn't working for you? Or are you requesting that we change the behavior of this functionality?

If this isn't working for you, could you give us more information? Could you tell us which browser you are using, as well as the version of the browser you are currently using? Could you also tell us which version of Profound UI you are currently using?

If you are requesting a feature, you should email our support team to submit a request. You can contact our support team using the following email address: support@profoundlogic.com

I hope that this helps!

Thank you Emily. I was requesting a feature because it doesn't work for me. So let's tackle why it doesn't work for me. Here are my versions of the software I'm currently using.

Chrome Version 63.0.3239.132 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Profound UI Version 6 Fix Pack 0.3

Thank you so much, Wendy

Hi Wendy,

I'm not sure why this isn't working for you. We haven't had any other reports of the arrow keys not working properly in the binding dialog. I do notice that you are using an older version of Chrome. The version of Chrome that I'm currently using is: Version 69.0.3497.81 (Official Build) (64-bit) and this seems to work as expected. You may want to consider upgrading your browser to see if that solves the problem for you.

If you decide to upgrade your browser, please let me know if this solves the problem for you.

Thanks!
