Grid Vertical Scrollbar

I've been working on a horizontally scrolling grid and ma trying to get the vertical scroll bar fixed in one position - I have the grid inside a simple layout and the horizontal scrolling is working fine. But the vertical scrollbar is positioned after the last column and is only visible when the user scrolls horizontally to the last column.

Ideally, I would like to have the vertical scrollbar fixed to the right border of the layout. It would always be visible no matter where the user is horizontally within the grid.

Is this possible?

What you're describing is the default behavior. When you put a grid inside of a layout, the scrollbar is automatically detached from the grid, and attached to the layout instead so that it is in a fixed place.
