Displaying only the current window

Is there a way to to tell Genie to display only the current window and to not display data from the screens under the current window? I ask because I have modified a screen fairly extensively and it renders well, but when a window is displayed over the screen the GUI for the window displays fine, but the data behind the window reflects the green screen layout of the underlying screen and not the customized web layout.

I do understand why this would occur.

One possible resolution, I thought might work, is to have the underlying screens' fields not rendered when the window is displayed.
The reason for this request is because there are many windows that can pop over the customized screen and not rendering the main screen when certain windows are active seemed to be a viable solution.

Any insights appreciated.

The purpose of a "window" is to allow you to see the screen that is underneath it, vs. taking up the entire screen. We've never had a request (to my knowledge/memory) to add a special feature to Genie that would do the opposite -- make it so that everything beneath the window would disappear.

You could certainly write something like that in JavaScript if you wanted it, though.

I agree with you, that the purpose of a window is to see the underlying screen.
After reading some older posts on this forum I think I see that the issue may be that I have undefined windows that are not being recognized by Genie and also some of my windows are overlaying screen identification fields of my main screen.
This is early stages of Genie implementation over a legacy system chock-full of windows and very few standards (actually, lots of conflicting standards).
I will continue doing research.
