Question:
We are using COBOL, not RPG. Is there anything that we can do?
Answer:
Currently, IBM Open Access (and hence our Profound UI) works with RPG only. The Profound UI suite does have a refacing tool (Genie) that will work with COBOL.
In addition, we have worked with a developer that was able to convert COBOL programs to Open Access by replacing I/O operations with calls to a simple RPG program that provided an interface to Profound UI. The developer did this as a small test case to show that it could be done. The concept is very interesting and may work for you as well.
