Number of allowed sessions exceeded (Web Browser)

Our business uses the Atrium menu system to launch Profound UI applications. Intermittently, a user is prevented from logging into Atrium and gets the pop message "Number of allowed sessions exceeded." Atrium is set to only permit 1 session but there are no active sessions for that or any other browser. The temporary solution has been to clear the cache/cookies for that browser and then attempt to sign on.

This seems like a browser issue but we've not been able to see any issues with how its configured. Wondering if you have any insights on what may be causing the issue or suggestions for determining root cause.
