Copy/Paste problems

I noticed that pasting into property fields in the profound UI designer does not always seem to work.
For example, i had a very long SQL statement that i wanted to populate into the choice options field (and by long i mean over 100 characters).
So i brought up notepad and typed in the SQL statement. Once i had the statement fully written i selected it, hit copy, then went into the designer and pasted it into my choice options property field.
My drop down list did not populate, i got a blank list.
To figure out what went wrong, i started manually typing in the SQL statement piece by piece to see when it went wrong. (my drop down list was supposed to be policy year, followed by a colon, followed by the effective date (formatted), followed by the word "to" followed by the expiration date (formatted)).
So for instance i generated my list with just the policy year. It worked. I then added the policy effective date, and that worked too. Until i had the entire string written in the property field and it worked fine.
The string was identical to the one i had typed in notepad, however it appears that the paste command did something that the designer did not like.
Is this a known issue? Typing into the property fields is not always convenient when very long strings are sometimes needed.
