Refresh/Buttons and functions keys unresponsive

Post by dkmccammon »

We have been experiencing a couple of intermittent issues that we need to resolve.
1. If users leave a screen for a while, say they have two browser sessions open and they leave one untouched for 5-10 minutes and they go back to that browser, it is unresponsive and the text/backgrounds/etc. are "grayed" out. Now on the development side of thins I can hit the refresh button on the editing box and it "wakes" the screen back up. The other issue on this side is there are times when we will open a window per say, and within that window there are options that a user can choose that opens another window. When they close out of that second window, the program returns to that first window, the function keys and buttons are not responsive. But again, the editing box refresh will "wake" the function keys and buttons back up where they can be used again.

2. The browser refresh button, when we click on the browser refresh, it closes the AS400 session out and the user has to log back in, but has lost where they were at and any unsaved work of course. Is there any settings we can change to make this browser refresh act similar to the refresh that takes place, when in edit mode, refresh button?

Thank you for your patience on this issue! It appears this may be a bug. Could you please email support at support@profoundlogic.com so that we may make an issue for you? We would also appreciate if you attached the following information to the email so that we can look into your issue as soon as possible.
  • Could you please send us a screen dump by pressing Ctrl + F9 while viewing the screen experiencing the issue? When you are prompted to save or open the file, please save the file and email it to us as an attachment.
  • Could you please send us a zipped file containing a copy of Genie skin you are using's folder? Being able to reproduce your issue on our end can help us to better investigate the issue you are experiencing. Your skin's folder is located at the following directory path:

    /www/[instance_name]/htdocs/profoundui/userdata/genie skins/[skin_name]

Where [instance_name] is the name of your instance, the default being profoundui, and [skin_name] is the name of your Genie skin. Please zip this folder and send it to us.
  • Could you please send us any custom JavaScript or CSS files you are using?
Having this information can help us to reproduce the issue on our end and better investigate the issue.

Thank you,
Megan B.

Sure, I can do that. I will have to wait until the scenario happens again. It is intermittent but generally happens on a daily basis. One other thing to note, we have had users hit their shift+esc key, and then cancel out of that and the screen "wakes" back up making the buttons and other function keys work again. I will send the dump (aka json file) to you as soon as I can get the error to happen again. Thank you for your assistance.
