I'm running the trial for the ProfoundUI product and wanted to verify that when I install the newest release, that it would simply overlay the existing configuration. are there any "user" files that are affected by overlaying the existing install?
Thanks!

There are a number of custom install options in the installer. If you re-install a later version with the same install options, then the new version will simply overlay the existing version. Any IFS files and source members shipping with the product will be replaced. In most cases you can simply re-install without losing user data. Here are a few cases of more advanced customizations that may need to be considered
- -start.html - this is the master html IFS file for all screens at runtime. If you have made changes to this file (eg company logo, background color etc) you will need to keep a backup copy of this.
-Style sheet used by start.html
-PUISCREENS - This is a display file containing the sign-on screen, error screen, session-end screen and session-timeout screen. This can be customized so a backup copy of the DDS source and should be made.
-Genie skins. The standard Genie skins shipped with the product are re-installed each time. You should copy a skin in the Genie Administrator to avoid losing Genie screen customizations.
-The samples library PUISAMPLES is deleted and replaced with each install.
- The http configuration file for the Profound UI Apache web instance. In many cases you will not need to alter this. You should make a backup copy of this file and deselect the replace option when reinstalling if you have made custom modifications to this config file.
Here are there exact locations of the above items.(Assuming default install location)
