Question:
How do you hanlde the launching of RPG programs on the AS400 from a remove web user?
Answer:
Profound UI runs under the standard HTTP powered by Apache web server on the IBM i (AS400) system. Forwarding requests through the firewall to this server will allow remote access.
There are two modes that Profound UI can launch under: as a sign on session or as an anonymous session. When using a sign on session, the user’s starting program for will be called. When using anonymous sessions, the program to run and any of its parameters must be passed as a query string parameter on the URL. However, for security reasons, any program that is to be launched anonymously must first be registered.
When programs are launched anonymously, the system assigns a default user profile named QTMHHTP1.
