Lock in place

According to the documentation it should be possible to select several widgets by drawing a rectangle around them, if their container is set to locked in place.

This does not seem to work.

What may be the problem?

Best wishes,

Rainer

I just ran a quick test, and its working without problems for me.

Can you explain further?

Here is a quick recording I made:

Thank you for your quick reply.

I have made a recording, however, mp4 files cannot be attached. What can I do?

Best wishes,

Rainer

We are using nested containers a lot.
Maybe this is the problem?

I guess I have figured out what is going wrong here.

If you have nested containers and want to select multiple elements with the "rubber band" you have to lock all the nested containers in place.

This is really annoying. Perhaps you might consider to change this for the next release.

Best wishes,

Rainer

I must admit, however, that I don't understand the request. You want it to lock other widgets aside from the one you asked it to lock? How would it know which widgets need to be locked and which should remain unlocked unless you tell it?

I have nested containers: A inside B inside C.
I want to select widgets in A with the "rubber band".

If I lock A in place that doesn't work.

However, yesterday I figured out a solution:

1. Edit/Select All

2. Design/Lock

3. Unselect by clicking in an empty place

4. Use the rubber band to select several widgets

5. Design/Unlock

It may be a good idea anyway, to first lock everything in place :)

Best wishes,

Rainer
