Question:
Does version of operating system matter?
Answer:
IBM Open Access supports operating systems V6R1 and higher only. However, Profound Logic provides an alternative method to using Open Access which works by preprocessing your RPG code. We call this component the RPG Preprocessor. Whether using Open Access or the RPG Preprocessor, the end result in your applications will be the same. We make the RPG Preprocessor available on those older systems where Open Access is not offered by IBM. This component supports operating system releases back to V5R3. So, you can use Profound UI with any operating system release V5R3 or higher.
