Chrome ver 42 and Plugins

Hi,
I see that with Chrome from version 42, NPAPI support has ended, so no Java plug-ins will work anymore (see link below). This means RunPCCommand etc. no longer function. With IE support ending we thought Chrome would be the route to take. Is there any work around to this or do we need to look into Firefox, Opera or some other browser going forward?

Thanks

It is still possible to run Java in Chrome 42. Though, I don't know how much longer this will be available in Chrome, but with some extra steps you can still enable Java as described here:
https://java.com/en/download/faq/chrome.xml
Make sure you read the section titled "Enabling NPAPI in Chrome Version 42 and later"
We only use Java applets to enable running PC commands (the STRPCCMD tool in Genie, or the runPCCommand JavaScript API). If you do not need these features, then Profound UI will work fine without Java support.
If you do need this support in the long term, then Firefox might be a good solution for you. Or, perhaps Microsoft's new browser (Edge) will work better once it is released? We will have to see how well that works once it's available.

Thank you Scott,
That did indeed work but I see the Chrome message says that this functionality will not be available for much longer.
We do the RunPCCommand quiet extensively so I think Firefox may be the way forward for now. Not that keen to try get the users to change to Edge an unproven, and new, browser at this stage . They already grumbling about the move to Chrome and no sooner have we done it and we going to Firefox.
