thank you. yes, as expected, there is reluctance to change the system level CCSID. So for now, I'll go with the settings.js change. We'll see how stuff rolls out over time. RIght now we're using this on the as400 and haven't done any other sophisticated Visual Designer stuff (like images? maybe that would be a problem). thanks for the support

No, this doesn't have anything whatsoever to do with images.

This has to do with how the IBM Db2 for i database converts text between character sets.
